Due to recent health challenges and advancing dementia, on July 12, 2025, Emperor Richard I of Antarctica abdicated in favor os his son and heir who asended the throne as His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Alexander I of Antarctica.
Due to recent health challenges, His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Richard I of Antarctica has appointed his son and heir, His Imperial Highness, Crown Prince Alexander, as the first Imperial Regent of Antarctica. The Crown Prince will take over all duties and responsibilities of the Emperor effective immediately. The Emperor, while retaining his position, will take a step back to rest and focus on his health; an abdication all but in name.
His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Richard I of Antarctica has created the position of Prime Minister of the Crown of Antarctica. He has appointed his son and heir, His Imperial Highness, Crown Prince Alexander, as the first Prime Minister.
The Crown of Antarctica celebrates 75 years since the original claim was made on July 4, 1950.
His Imperial Majesty, The Emperor has knighted 21 deserving people who have made contributions to Antarctica, including nine posthumous Knighthoods.
The country of Costa Rica officially acknowledges The Crown's authority in Antarctica.
The Crown of Antarctica is officially established as the successor to the original claim made in 1950 by LeRoy Kincaid, who's son-in-law is now Emperor Richard I of Antarctica.
