The Crown of Antarctica is an independent imperial entity dedicated to peace, cultural preservation, and environmental stewardship on the Antarctic continent. It operates with a focus on dignity, sovereignty, and global unity.

On July 4, 1950, on his 25th birthday, LeRoy Kincaid claimed the continent of Antarctica. In August 1997, he passed that claim to his son-in-law Richard Lake II. On June 29, 2025, Richard proclaimed the Crown of Antarctica with himself as Emperor of the frozen vastness. 

As of July 12, 2025, the Crown is led by His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Richard I of Antarctica, who was formally recognized by the Republic of Costa Rica on July 1, 2025. The Crown is supported by a structured government, including ministers and nobles committed to the Empire’s mission.

Yes. The Republic of Costa Rica issued formal recognition of the Crown of Antarctica on July 1, 2025. Additional diplomatic communications are underway with other states. 

The Crown lays sovereign claim to the continent of Antarctica, based on moral authority, peaceful purpose, and the right of stewardship over regions. All claims are made in accordance with a vision of international peace and ecological protection.

No. The Crown of Antarctica is not a fictional or hobbyist endeavor. It is a sovereign imperial claim with cultural, diplomatic, and strategic foundations rooted in global law, recognition, and purpose.

We do not offer citizenship yet. However, we are actively seeking people to go on diplomatic missions to the continent of Antarctica. 

To establish the world’s first imperial capital on Antarctica: Aurum Polaris. This future city will serve as a center for diplomacy, environmental research, cultural preservation, and global cooperation under the Crown’s protection. As well as to gain the recognition of more countries.
